Along in Intramuros Manila: Travelogue

I always wanted to go to Intramuros before it makes trend to all social media platforms, it is giving me Barcelona vibe that I truly admired. I love taking pictures of different views such as  churches, buildings, plazas, and museums.

You can find all of these in Intramuros! Last December, We went to Intramuros unplanned but it was fun and memorable. My friends knew how I love dressing up so since we're going to the Historic Walled City I go for wearing a denim skirt and a not so turtle neck shirt with a cute ribbon on side. I suggest that you should wear comfortable outfits if you are planning to go there.

.

Our first stop is in Ayuntamiento de Manila, it is used to be the city hall of Manila city during the Spanish Era. Did you know that it has been rebuilt four times? In the 17th century, an earthquake destroyed the Ayuntamiento and it was rebuilt in 1738 in the Baroque Style. Meanwhile, a strong earthquake again destroyed it in 1863, and a new structure was built in 1884. However, In world War II, as with most of Intramuros and the rest of Manila, bombing during the liberation destroyed the Ayuntamiento. It has lain in ruins until 2009.

Second, Casa Manila Museum the social history of Manila during the Spanish Colonial era. This reproduction of a grand 19th-century mansion, decorated and furnished in authentic period style, is typical of the homes of affluent Filipino families, offering a fascinating glimpse of a bygone era.
Casa Manila Museum is located in historic Intramuros, an easy taxi or jeepney ride from the city centre and a short hop from Central Terminal Station. The museum is open every day except Monday and there is a modest admission fee. Visitors should be aware that no photography is allowed inside the building.

Thirdly, the Manila Cathedral, the Premier Cathedral of the Philippines for the obvious reason that it is the first Cathedral of the Philippines. The present structure of the Manila Cathedral, the eighth and the Post-War reconstruction designed by Archt. Fernando Ocampo, has eight chapels. It made me think of the church I will choose for my future wedding just kidding! I have no plans of getting married.

The most exciting part of this trip is when we went to Philippines Presidents' Gallery, why am I excited to go there? the reason why is that KathNiel have been visited this place, they are the famous love team here in Philippines which I idolized. I want to take a photo just like what they did when they visited this place, it is not because I want to see the faces of our former presidents, I know their faces already not just that but what they did to our country which is why I hate most of them. There are other interesting place to see in Intramuros aside from this. But if you want to visit, it is located along a street usually passed by pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages as part of city tour.

As I have said earlier, our trip was unplanned we left home at exactly 4:30 pm in the afternoon, the transportation going there is quite slow, it is too late for us to see every interesting places there since it is getting late, the sunset already until it became night which is too hard to explore the remaining places because it is dark and the lights on our way are minimal.

But then, I enjoyed this moment with my cousin and my friends it will be forever treasured. Maybe we can have a trip again to Intramuros earlier than our first trip so that we can enjoy exploring the Intramuros as a whole.
